Advanced whole-body PET-CT imaging for accurate cancer detection, staging, and treatment monitoring — combining metabolic and anatomical imaging in a single scan, at charitable rates with same-day reporting.
A PET-CT scan combines two powerful imaging technologies in one examination — PET (Positron Emission Tomography) shows how tissues are functioning at the cellular level, while CT (Computed Tomography) provides detailed anatomical images of the body.
Before the scan, a small amount of radioactive glucose (FDG tracer) is injected. Cancer cells consume more glucose than normal cells, so they “light up” on the PET images — allowing doctors to detect cancer, determine its exact location and spread, and assess whether treatment is working.
PET-CT is considered the gold standard for cancer staging and is also used in cardiology (heart viability) and neurology (epilepsy, dementia evaluation).
Locating the primary tumour when cancer is suspected, including cancers of unknown primary origin.
Determining the exact extent and spread of cancer — essential before deciding on surgery, chemo or radiation.
Checking whether chemotherapy or radiation is working — often after 2–3 cycles of treatment.
Detecting cancer recurrence after completed treatment, often before it shows on other scans.
Assessing whether heart muscle is alive and likely to recover after a heart attack — guides bypass decisions.
Locating seizure focus in epilepsy and evaluating dementia / memory disorders.
Check-in, blood sugar test, and brief medical history review by our team.
Small FDG tracer injection in your arm vein — like a routine blood test.
Relax in a quiet room for 45–60 minutes while the tracer circulates.
Lie still on the scanner table for 20–30 minutes. Completely painless.
Same-day report by nuclear medicine physician. Discuss with your doctor.
PET-CT scans are very safe. The radioactive tracer dose is small and leaves your body naturally within a few hours — mostly through urine. Drinking water after the scan helps flush it out faster.
Doctor’s prescription required. Bring previous reports. Subsidised rates available — our desk will check your scheme eligibility.

No. The only discomfort is the small tracer injection, similar to a routine blood test. The scan itself is completely painless — you simply lie still on the scanner table for 20–30 minutes.
Plan for 2–3 hours in total: registration and sugar check, tracer injection, 45–60 minutes of quiet rest while the tracer circulates, then the 20–30 minute scan. The report is usually ready the same day.
The tracer is a form of glucose. If you eat before the scan, your muscles absorb the glucose and can hide the areas doctors need to see. Fasting for 6 hours ensures clear, accurate images. Plain water is allowed and encouraged.
Yes. Diabetic patients are scanned regularly — but blood sugar must be in an acceptable range at scan time. Inform our team when booking, and they will guide you on adjusting your medication and meal timing for the scan day.
The radiation dose is low and considered safe for diagnostic purposes. The tracer leaves your body naturally within hours. The medical benefit of accurate cancer detection and staging far outweighs the small radiation exposure. As a precaution, avoid prolonged close contact with pregnant women and infants for about 6 hours after the scan.
Yes. PET-CT is performed only on a doctor’s recommendation, since the scan protocol depends on your clinical condition. Bring your prescription and all previous reports and scans when you come.
As a charitable hospital, our PET-CT rates are among the most affordable in the region — significantly lower than corporate diagnostic centres.government scheme patients may be eligible for cashless scanning. Contact our booking desk for exact rates and eligibility.
