When surgery, accident or anaemia demands blood, every minute counts. Our licensed blood storage unit keeps screened, cross-matched blood available round the clock for our patients — so treatment never waits.
Our Blood Storage Unit operates under a government licence, stocking screened blood units sourced from linked licensed blood banks. Every unit is tested for HIV, hepatitis B & C, syphilis and malaria before it ever reaches our storage.
Before any transfusion, our technicians perform blood grouping and cross-matching in-house — confirming compatibility between the donor unit and your blood. Temperature-controlled storage with continuous monitoring keeps every unit safe and viable.
For planned surgeries, blood is reserved in advance. For emergencies — accidents, deliveries with bleeding, urgent surgeries — compatible blood is issued within minutes, day or night.
Treating doctor raises a blood requisition stating component and units needed.
Patient's sample is grouped and cross-matched against available units.
Matched unit is issued with documentation; cold chain maintained till bedside.
Transfusion given under nursing observation with vitals monitoring throughout.

Yes. Every unit comes from licensed blood banks and is tested for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis and malaria before storage. Before transfusion, we additionally cross-match the specific unit against your blood sample to confirm compatibility. Transfusions are monitored by nursing staff throughout.
Blood itself is never sold — charges are nominal processing fees covering testing, cross-matching, storage and consumables, as per government norms. As a charitable hospital, our processing charges are kept minimal, and scheme patients are covered per their entitlement.
Replacement donation refills the stock used for your patient, keeping blood available for the next emergency. It is a request, not a precondition for treatment — emergency patients always receive blood first, and replacement can follow afterwards. Each donation potentially helps three more patients.
Inform us as early as possible — especially before planned surgery. We coordinate with our linked blood banks and donor networks to arrange rare group units in advance. For emergencies, compatible alternatives are used per transfusion medicine protocols while the rare group is sourced.
Healthy adults aged 18–65, weighing at least 50 kg, with haemoglobin in the acceptable range. You should not donate if you have fever, recent major illness, certain medications, or recent tattoos/piercings (within months). Our staff screen every donor before donation — the whole process takes about 30 minutes.
For blood availability, planned surgery reservation, or donation queries — our blood storage unit answers round the clock.
