Specialised care for the digestive system — stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Our gastroenterologists diagnose and treat digestive disorders, including endoscopy for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
The digestive system — from the stomach to the intestines, liver and pancreas — affects how we absorb nutrition and feel every day. Digestive problems are extremely common, and often cause significant discomfort and worry.
Our gastroenterology department diagnoses and treats the full range of digestive disorders. We use endoscopy and colonoscopy — slim cameras that let us see inside the digestive tract directly — for accurate diagnosis and, often, treatment in the same sitting.
From acidity and ulcers to liver disease and digestive cancers, our gastroenterologists provide expert care at charitable rates, working closely with our surgical and oncology teams when needed.
Treatment of acid reflux (GERD), gastritis and stomach/duodenal ulcers.
Chronic diarrhoea, constipation, IBS and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis and other liver conditions — diagnosis and management.
Evaluation and treatment of bleeding in the digestive tract, often via endoscopy.
Pancreatitis, gallstones-related problems and related digestive conditions.
Screening and early detection of stomach, colon and other GI cancers.
Troubled by digestive problems? Our gastroenterologists diagnose accurately — including endoscopy when needed — and treat effectively.
OPD: Monday – Saturday
An endoscopy uses a thin, flexible tube with a camera to see inside your digestive tract directly. For upper GI endoscopy, a throat spray numbs the area, and mild sedation can be given — most patients tolerate it well with only brief discomfort. It allows accurate diagnosis and sometimes treatment in the same sitting.
A colonoscopy examines the large intestine (colon) and is advised for persistent bowel changes, blood in stool, unexplained anaemia, or colon cancer screening (especially after age 50 or with family history). It can also remove polyps before they turn cancerous — making it both diagnostic and preventive.
Occasional acidity is common, but persistent or severe acidity, especially with pain, difficulty swallowing or weight loss, needs evaluation. It could be reflux disease, an ulcer, or rarely something more serious. A gastroenterologist identifies the cause and provides lasting treatment rather than temporary relief.
Yes. We diagnose and manage the full range of liver conditions — fatty liver (increasingly common), hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis and others. Early management can prevent progression to serious liver damage.
As a charitable hospital, our consultation and procedure rates including endoscopy are kept well below private centres. CGHS/ESI/scheme patients are covered per entitlement, with subsidy support for needy families.
